Cabinets

I love my cabinets. I love my corbels. This house is looking like a house that a person could actually live in - we are finally on the up and up. My blood pressure is thankful.

But first! Memorial Day weekend a ragtag band of loved ones moved all my crap from my rental (which I was obliged to vacate because my lease and extension were both up... yikes) and because My Big Mistake is not even remotely close to completion and my garage is full of trim material, I had to move it all to my parents' house.

One of my favorite ones: before and after moving.

So I'm living with a couple of lovely people and exactly 11 cats and 3 dogs. Anybody need a kitten? I have 8.

This is a pile of kittens - they are much cuter now but they used to be very very small and barely alive. Now they like to climb my pants and want to burrow in my hair. Fun!

Do I look chic with a shirt covered in milk replacer and a zit the size of Dallas? It probably IS Dallas, amirite?

But you don't come here for selfies, even if they prove my sideburns are more than just conjecture. First let me update you on the tile situation since many of you were very concerned about what the hell was going on. I ended up having to replace every single inch of tile in the bathroom, but this time it is floated and now we have (get ready) GROUT! It's called Delorean Gray and that in itself is something to smile about:

You can tell when 5:00 hit...

Grouted and done!
And now... what you came for:

See the floors? Very dirty but nice. You may also remember the corbels & inspo:

Well here it is cased out:

And I didn't use regular corbels for the other cased opening, I used baby ones so it didn't compete with that money shot:

Here's a close up of my bench - we used two 48" piano hinges (you can also see some paint samples):

But the kitchen is giving me life right now:

Ok this looks like a mess - ignore the hood box, the box is crazy and it's going away.

This is the inside of my peninsula. Look at that detail. It's like biting into a stick of butter.

I kiss my fingers at this, Italian-style.

Here's my vanity in the bathroom:

Sara and I spent some time choosing the hardware for this and I think we have a solution:

I keep wanting to use the heart eyes emoji so I think things must be going well. I want to double these up on the drawers. I love them passionately.

Speaking of Sara; we went to the High Fashion Home tent sale and bought nothing but had a grand time. I loved this couch and almost went home with it but it does not have a chaise and I really think I have my heart set on that. Then we walked around and drooled about stuff we can't afford.

Last but not least, bloopers: here were the inspo pics I took from pinterest and sent to my trim carpenters!

And then I drew it on the wall, specifying brackets NOT boxes.

This is what happened

Womp womp. They plan on fixing this but ugh.

I found this house on Tuesday Bassen's instagram account and I'm considering a similar sign. Wiener Ranch omg. Also buy her stuff, she's crazy talented; hail satin.
