Within Reach

Just been having a super great time being partially unpacked and trying in earnest to get everything accomplished. My backsplash is coming together!

And the shelves are up! I also bought them 600 years ago because they're gorgeous and it's nice to finally see them. I promise I'll take real photos once everything is jujjed (djuj'd?)

I also fixed the lights in the kitchen to hang properly.

Dining is coming along - my dining table is in! I just... can't lift the top by myself so I'm waiting for an able body.

Got my pulls on my bench seat! I love them - time to get a damn pillow.

Partially moving my crap in! Here it is all on the counter with blue tape on a ton of drawers. Also behold! My weird body and my gorgeous mirror from Davis Hardware!

And last but not least, starting to hang my clothes. CURTAINS ARE UP! shit is coming together.

Look at that! Super off center! but nonetheless I now have sheets and a duvet and a nice blanket. I could conceivably sleep here in the not so distant future.

That's what I got today!

Closer

Finally. I bought this hand about 15 trillion years ago to put on my front door because I needed something to be excited about since the process of this house being extremely ugly lasted a really, really long time. I realize this front door looks white but it's actually blue with a gold hand knocker I don't want to see any ridiculous arguing about it. Nice to see it come to fruition finallyyyy

Also my cabinet hardware is in! I got them from Etsy, a really really nice dude who helped me get everything I wanted. I love them!

Aaaaand since you can kind-of peep in the background LOOK AT MY GORGEOUS RANGE! Shout out to my BFFs Lisa & Todd Richey for essentially giving me a priceless family heirloom. I have someone coming to lovingly clean the gunk off of it on Friday and this is the very last time anyone will ever touch it, you have my word.

Other adorable developments:

And also moving has started! This is my "craft room" at the moment - just trying to cover the floors to keep dirty shoes from muddying them up:

Here's the master:

Not the finished product - I traded the 9" box spring for a bunky (bunkie?) board TBD with absolutely no help from JUSTIN at the fucking MATTRESS FIRM by HOME DEPOT. Daisy at the Mattress Firm at the Marquee is my GIRL, calling reps and calling me back MORE THAN ONCE like a damn hero. It's because of Daisy I did not flip a table last Wednesday.

Here's more moving evidence:

Also my gorgeous dining fixture. I love it more than I could ever possibly express:

Presently it doesn't work, but it's a damn dream come true anyway.

Miscellaneous Installations

Some things are happening! Little by little, shit is getting accomplished.

Update on my kittens: Fred & George have been adopted! We have applications in for 3 more, interest in a 4th but my favorite lil bubs still need homes.

Tilda (right) is a Calico, which means she is a cat of many flavors. A pioneer, Tilda enjoys exploring and playing with your hands and does not enjoy PDA (see above), though she will allow kisses when you're good and alone.

Lil Grey (left) was the runt and suffered for a little while from weight loss due to being the weakest of the 8 kittens. She's been bottle fed quite a bit and is therefore VERY loving and snuggly and wants to be your bug.

My refrigerator has been recently installed, it is pretty good lookin if you ask me.

This is installed! It's pretty ugly, but hopefully we can get it covered.

My range! It needed a new plug because the first plug was made in 1941 and looked a little ratchet, plus the electricians had a hard time installing the plug in the wall because of course, so it's chillin here until those things can be resolved. Also they started tile!!

And last but not least: I've begun moving my crap. Thank the lord.

PS: Does anybody have any idea what this plant is? I grew it with like 10 other things and this was the only thing that lived, but there are too many things to choose from so I'm not super sure what it is or that I remember what I tried to cultivate.

Chasin Waterfalls

My flowers are gorgeous and acclimating well, but my pal Paul came back this weekend to put some gravel in my backyard and line my beds with some metal. Side note: the needle flowers I murdered are doing much better in the shade and I've planted some herbs instead.

Look at my backyard!

So pretty! It's been a minute since we took a look at the inside of the house: it's tough to take photos of paint without any lights, so there hasn't been much for you to see. However! We got counter tops and my paint doubts are all over.

Oh hey welcome to my house. What's that glimmer down there?

Why yes it's my new gorgeous Argento dolomite counter tops! How's my waterfall? Unreal? YA I KNOW. Also that green is giving me life, I am an enormous fan.

Also you may have seen a peep of my bench, I've been trying to get my house ready for installs all week so there's a mass of stuff here.

Oh what's that? Could it be... counter tops for my bathroom?!

YA

Ok that's all I've got this week. That's literally all that happened, but it's nice to see the interior a bit, isn't it? So.... cloooose....
